Meet Rev. Dr. Laura Miller-Purrenhage
The Rev. Dr. Laura Miller-Purrenhage is an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ. While a seminary student, she served as an intern at North Westminster. She received her M.Div. from Western Theological Seminary in 2016 and was ordained 2019. Laura received her Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan in 2002. Before becoming a pastor, she worked as a professor at Kettering University in Flint, teaching humanities, leadership and ethics and, her favorite, a class on J.R.R. Tolkien. Laura is the chair of her local Interfaith Clergy Association, and an active member of the Covenant Association in the UCC, and the UCC Michigan Conference. She loves singing and playing handbells. She lives in mid-Michigan with her husband, John, their son, JP, and their two cats. In her free time, Laura enjoys reading, strategy board games, camping, and just being out in nature.
